Happy 20th Anniversary Colour Tech!

https://hummingbirdhammocks.com/It’s no small feat for a business to still be operating 20 years later.  In fact, in these days of harder economic downturns, it’s quite the accomplishment and certainly something worth acknowledging.  So, how did it all happen?

Well, first off, the founders of Colour Tech were actually pioneers of full colour, photo marketing cards in Canada.  At a time when most people in sales handed out flimsy cards with one or two colour logos and black text, Bob and Margaret Campbell saw an opportunity and seized it with both hands.

This one-man, one-woman show known as Colour Tech Business Cards took flight in October 1991 with Bob hunting down customers and Margaret working as a quick-change artist juggling production, billing and shipping (talk about multi-tasking!).  I would imagine there were days of tugging at hair and, at some point, even wondering what on earth they had got themselves into but there’s something to be said for tenacity and the Campbell’s have it in spades.

Early on, Bob and Margaret made their mark in the real estate industry by becoming regulars at trade shows and events held nationwide. Showing up each time gave customers the opportunity to meet the faces behind the names and it also showed them that the company was in it for the long haul. Margaret soon became the face of Colour Tech Marketing.

In today’s world, change isn’t something new that crops up now and again. It’s a constant by which we all live, and the print industry is no different. The company’s major changes have been in the form of relocation to a larger building and the upgrade and addition of new presses, bindery equipment and systems. Each new challenge was, and still is, confronted with a certain determination and verve as we branched out to a variety of other industries and individual clients.

Something which hasn’t changed, though, is the company’s core values and commitment to its customers. From a live receptionist, to face-to-face conversations with a dedicated Account Representative, right through to our follow-up survey, it’s important that the customer is our number one priority… and that’s why we look forward to serving you for at least another 20 years.

So, tell us, how long have YOU been a Colour Tech client?

    Congratulations on all your accomplishments!

  3. Paul Studholme

Wow, 20 years, has it been that long. I can remember when there was only 5 of us. I can also remember when Bob called me to see if my mother needed a job in shipping because it seemed like there was a time when only Campbell’s and Studholme’s were working at Colour Tech.
Best wishes for continued success, you have a great leader.

Probably one of the best moments was when Bob had said, Welcome to the Colour Tech team! That was back in October 1998, and I was out of school for about a year. I was doing small, mediocre jobs and freelancing. Not exactly a great way to put food on the table. I worked at ColourTech for about 3 years and even though I bumped heads at times, I miss everyone I worked with. It was probably one of the best places I worked and a great way of going in to work everyday. To this day, I miss working there. I’ve made great friends and miss them.

Congratulations to everyone there and hope to see some of you soon!

  5. Congratulations! Spent 2+ great years there!
One of the greatest companies to work for!

  6. Sean Allen

    Wow 20 Years!

Colourtech was my first job after college and it definitely pointed my career in a positive direction. Bob taught me the basics of marketing and how to be passionate for what you do. Everyday was a new experience and the people that worked there were unbelievable group. Truly one of my best career experiences.

Congratulations Bob and Margaret and the Colour Tech team.

  8. Jaret Dicks

Congratulations on 20 years in business!

Seems like yesterday I got a call from Bob asking me why a young guy from Northern Ontario was applying to a job in Mississauga. That job was my big break into the world of graphic design and marketing, and allowed me to gain the experience and confidence I have today in my current position at Northern College.

I really enjoyed my almost 2 years there, the team I worked with in our design department were a great bunch to work with, and our sales reps were great at getting us the work and keeping us busy!

A real family atmosphere, a job you always enjoyed going to every day and always feeling pretty good when the day was done.

All the best to the Colour Tech team, and to Bob and Margaret…may you have continued success and all the best to you in the next chapter at Colour Tech!

  9. I spent 6 years at Colour Tech and have a ton of great memories. I made some great friends there that I still keep in touch with, and even today when I stop by to say hi, I still feel like I’m part of the team. It’s a really great working environment, and it all starts from the top!

Congratulations Bob and Margaret (and the rest of the CT crew) on 20 years of business!

  10. Lisa Jones

I am proud to say I have been working for Colour Tech since 1997. From the very beginning, they have always made me feel like I belonged. I have met many wonderful people over the years. I also enjoy working with such a great clientele. The success of Colour Tech is due to Bob and Margaret’s hard work and determination for so many years. Congratulations to you both!

  11. Just saw Bob Campbell at the recent Re/Max event for the new branding. Here is the secret of successful sales and legacy. Show up and see your customers. Talk to them. Let them know you are there to help them! Thank you Bob and Margaret.
